Manufacturing 3

The Question:

How do we create an integrated feel to the senior management programme?

The Client

A global manufacturing company operating in more than 60 countries

The Challenge

The company had worked hard to create a diverse and profound learning and development programme for its senior managers that lasted over a twelve month period with various different interventions and resources.

It had a good reputation, but the feeling was that it could be significantly enhanced if it had a blended learning “spine” that would integrate the parts and make it feel like a homogeneous whole as well as enabling stronger implementation of learning. The challenge was how to create this.

GLA's role

GLA were already involved with a three day face to face intervention which formed part of a five day residential. It explored leadership and management challenges through a dynamic and profound experiential simulation.

We developed a blended learning solution with the following characteristics:

  • An on-line private learning community space, branded as a company resource
  • A dedicated on-line coaching service
  • A “home” for the various learning resources offered by the organisation throughout the programme
  • A moderated process to ensure that assignments were completed in line with learning objectives

Results:

The company report good take up of the on-line elements of the process. Coaches report great engagement with participants who regularly provide evidence of successful implementation. The sponsoring HR manager is delighted that his design is now pulled together in this holistic manner.
